Capstone Ideas...
Before getting the chance to work with Joe on the Ales of Indiana doc, I was planning on creating a "lost trailer" for Star Wars by cutting up all of the movies then taking the best battle scenes from them and splicing it all together. Then I would remove the sound and add my own sound effects and music. There were questions as to whether or not I would need to get permission from Lucasfilm in order to do this since it was for a capstone project so I dropped the idea and was looking for something to do when I was approached by Joe to share the Ales of Indiana doc.

ReplyDeleteI've heard that if you take the original sound out of a video, you can use it. But I don't know if that applies to Lucasfilm.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I would just like to say that the font you have chosen is very hard to read.
That being said, this goes along with our discussion today in class about using things that are Copywrited. And what is the "Joe to share the Ales of Indiana doc" thing??
In my very first post I described the capstone project my friend and fellow student are working on. It is a doc or documentary about Indiana Breweries.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the font is hard to read, but I like it.
I found a font more pleasing to the eye and more importantly, easier to read.

ReplyDeletei really think that the ales of Indiana sounds like a great and fun project to work on i find allot of documentaries to be boring it takes an interesting subject to make the documentary fun to watch and i think that the subject of the breweries in Indiana is just one of those subject matters i think that this idea will definitely turn out great I'm interested to see the finished product.

ReplyDeleteAs far as the "Star Wars" idea goes, I believe you would be okay just so long as you don't make any money off it. People take movies, cut them up, and turn them into music videos all the time. =)

ReplyDeleteSometimes its better to stay away from copyrighted material when you create any project that you think you may be using in your portfolio. However, with that said, I think it would be a lot of fun to do your own foley work for many different Star Wars scenes... very challenging as well.
